Sharing Stories
English4Turkey is dedicated to helping English language learners by sharing the stories, opinions and thoughts of a wide variety of native English speakers from around the world. Those who share on this site come from different backgrounds and locations and represent a wide variety of the native English speaking world. The foundation of the site is the question of the week. Contributors are asked basic questions about life, about current events, about politics and faith and family. They then share for a few minutes their thoughts on the particular topic. In this way you get to hear authentic answers in authentic English.

Crossing Borders
Much of the tension in the world today is largely based on misconception. Westerners have ideas about who Muslims are but have never met a Muslim person. Likewise, Westerners are often viewed through the lens of Hollywood or Politics - neither of which really defines who they really are. To break through our stereotypes we need to meet the other person. English4Turkey aims to be part of that meeting. We believe that in this way we can be one small part of reducing tension between East and West, between North and South and in promoting understanding and in helping shape a better world for tomorrow.
The Turkish Listening Library
Learning English
English4Turkey utilizes an innovative learning approach called narrow listening. In narrow listening the learner listens to a number of native speakers talk about the same subject, each from his or her own perception. This narrow focus creates a situation where you understand more of what you are hearing, which in turn promotes learning.
